    An executive who has lived in five different European countries over his longstanding career, Georg has strategized for and achieved success in the agriculture industry. As Indigo’s first Head of Europe, he translates this success in supporting grower profitability, environmental sustainability, and consumer health within the continent.

    Georg is a frequent speaker and guest author on the benefits of regenerative agriculture in transforming the agri-food sector and how agriculture can become part of the climate solution. Over the last 4 years Georg has – together with his team - successfully established Indigo’s business from scratch, developed its biologicals business across multiple countries in Europe and has launched various pilots in the sustainability space.

    Prior to joining Indigo, Georg was a senior business leader during fifteen years for Syngenta. As Head Commercial Operations & Strategy EAME, his most recent tenure before joining Indigo, Georg was responsible for the development and implementation of Syngenta’s Strategy & Business development including the digitalization approach across EAME. Important aspects of his work included improving customer experience and developing commercial capabilities within the organization. In previous roles Georg successfully headed and grew Syntenta’s Seedcare EAME business and acted as Head Lawn & Garden EAME, where he also headed the consumer business for Syngenta in EAME. He joined Syngenta as Senior Mergers and Acquisitions manager in 2003 and led various Mergers and Acquisitions transactions expanding Syngenta’s genetic portfolio and Go-to-Market capabilities.

    Before Syngenta, Georg was a vice president at Deutsche Bank. He was a key leader in the investment bank’s eVentures team, where strategic investments were made in digital companies and platforms. He started his professional career at Deutsche Bank Group as a consultant in Mergers and Acquisitions advisory.

    Georg holds a Master’s Degree in Economics from Albert Ludwigs University, located in Germany. He also studied at the University Paul Valery, Montpellier and the ISG in Paris, France. He speaks five languages, including German, English, French, Spanish and a bit of Danish.
