Sergi has a robust track record developing strategies and delivering strong results across several agricultural business units and geographies.

Having worked for over 11 years with industry leader Syngenta, his experience spans from crop protection chemicals and bio-controls to seeds and GM traits. Prior to Indigo, Sergi worked as Head of LATAM Soybean Seeds Operating Unit based in Buenos Aires were he catapulted Syngenta to #2 position from a modest #6 in LATAM soy seeds. In addition to optimizing the go-to-market and portfolio, Sergi led the strategic thinking to acquire and integrate Nidera Seeds, a major +$1b deal. Previously, as Head of Global Strategy & Business Development for Soybeans, Sergi designed strategic plans for +$2.5b agrochemicals and seeds portfolio, with special focus on a seeds global turnaround plan and the GM traits in-licensing strategy from top industry players like Monsanto and Corteva.

His first P&L operational experience was with biologicals in period 2011- 2014 where, as Bioline Marketing Head, Sergi doubled EBITDA for a $25-50m standalone macrobials business in Europe while globally scouting 100s of biotechnology start-ups/ SME companies to build partnerships and in-license technologies to complement a CP portfolio within an IPM program.

Prior to joining Syngenta as EAME CP Strategy Manager in Switzerland in 2008, Sergi worked as Accenture consultant & project manager for + 6 years.

In addition to an MBA from IMD Business School in Lausanne, Sergi holds a MSc in Industrial Engineering from UPC-ETSEIB in Barcelona and a BSc in Business Sciences from Open University of Catalonia.
